Countries with high levels of atheism also are the most charitable in terms of giving foreign aid to the developing world. The dubious link between Christian literalism and Christian values is also belied by other indices of charity. Consider the ratio in salaries between top-tier CEOs and their average employee: in Britain it is 24 to 1; France 15 to 1; Sweden 13 to 1; in the United States, where 83% of the population believes that Jesus literally rose from the dead, it is 475 to 1. Jesus Steals a Colt
As they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. "Go into that village over there," he told them, "and as you enter it, you will see a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs it.'" So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, "Why are you untying our colt?" And the disciples simply replied, "The Lord needs it." So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on. Prayer it is so much easier to be religiousThe positive and negative reinforcements of religion verses atheism deep thoughtsIf a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell we know the bible is true because gods people would never lieOn some occasions the bodies of the martyrs who had been devoured by beasts, Utility of Religion"When a man firmly believed that if he violated the sacredness of a particular sanctuary he would be struck dead on the spot or smitten suddenly with a mortal disease, he doubtless took care not to incur the penalty; but when anyone had had the courage to defy the danger and escaped with impunity, the spell was broken.... Unquestionably the conviction which experience in time forced on all but the very ignorant, that divine punishments were not to be confidently expected in a temporal form, contributed much to the downfall of the old religions and the general adoption of one which, without absolutely excluding providential interferences in this life for the punishment of guilt or the reward of merit, removed the principal scene of divine retribution to a world after death. But rewards and punishments postponed to that distance of time... must be awarded not definitely to particular actions but on a general survey of the person's whole life, and he easily persuades himself that, whatever may have been his peccadilloes, there will be a balance in his favor at the last.... The sole quality in these punishments which might seem calculated to make them efficacious, their overpowering magnitude, is itself a reason why nobody (except a hypochondriac here and there) ever really believes that he is in any very serious danger of incurring them. Even the worst malefactor is hardly able to think that any crime he has had it in his power to commit, any evil he can have inflicted in this short space of existence, can have deserved torture extending through an eternity. Accordingly religious writers and preachers never tire of complaining how little effect religious motives have... on lives and conduct, notwithstanding the tremendous penalties which are alleged to await."

Strange Fire
Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu put coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over it. In this way, they disobeyed the LORD by burning before him a different kind of fire than he had commanded. So fire blazed forth from the LORD's presence and burned them up, and they died there before the LORD. (Leviticus 10:1-2 NLT) nasty little bible quotes for todayBible Quotes for November 4
Lust is Adultery
But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So if your eye – even if it is your good eye – causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your hand – even if it is your stronger hand – causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Matthew 5:28-30 NLT) letters from a christian on why its ok for people to starveYou said "Why don't you believe in God? God is love. If it weren't for God, we wouldn't know what LOVE is." The world is made up of many cultures that have no belief in any gods whatsoever, Taoists, Confucians, Buddhists to mention a few, know nothing of gods, yet these people love just as deeply as you or I. To try to claim anything else is barbaric and so typically Christian. You might wish to read a book before you make another comment, a real book, not a collection of fairytales and folklore ThankGod says: October 27th, 2009 at 08:24 PM WOW! Is this how you've learned to show love? Did I say that anything else was barbaric or is that what YOU'RE saying? I just asked a question. I believe in God because I was taught to believe in God and because of what He's done in my life. I suggest that it would be better to live like there was a God and die to find out it wasn't a God rather than to live like there wasn't a God then die to find out there WAS a God! It'll be to late then. Also, how can you believe in what's written in history books but not believe in what's written in the Bible? Godfree110158 says: October 28th, 2009 at 12:45 AM Talking snakes, rib women, men made from dirt, zombies who are their own fathers, zombies who impregnate their own mothers, talking donkeys, flying zombies. These are a few reasons that the bible is silly at best. God B Less GF ThankGod says: October 28th, 2009 at 10:21 AM You may be giving yourself to much credit GF. You cannot take everything literally. First, the Bible was originally written in Hebrew. Second, at the time the Bible was written there was a shortage of vocabulary so a lot of what is written is describing something or what have you. I urge you to keep this in mind and read the Bible again. Also, you can always test God to see if he's real. For an example, God knows your thoughts and knows what's in you heart as well as your intentions. Talk to Him. In you thoughts only because His enemy, the devil, cannot read your thoughts but trust when I say he's listening when you talk. So when you're talking to God with your thoughts, don't speak aloud what you're talking with God about. To anyone! That way, you'll know that only God knows what you're talking to Him about! It'll be just between the two of you. Then watch and prepare for an answer. When I ask God to give me an answer, I ask for a confirmation meaning, once He gives me an answer, another will come confirming the first. I love it. It's soooo amazing! In the meantime, I'm going to pray that God shows you that HE IS REAL!!! PEACE and LOVE! Godfree110158 says: October 28th, 2009 at 01:03 PM ok, so what parts of the bible are lies and what parts are true? adam and eve, true or false? The flood, true or false? Jesus, true or false? I have read the bible, thats why I'm an atheist. But as to your little test, lets just both drop to our knees and ask god to feed all the poor, very simple thing for a god. What do you say? ThankGod says: October 28th, 2009 at 02:52 PM You know, sometimes God allows things to happen because He wants people to turn to Him in order for them to know Him. Maybe if the starving people would pray themselves to God they would get fed. Also, the adversary causes bad things to happen so that people will blame God and turn their backs on Him. If you know someone that is starving, I'm asking you again, to pray to God and ask Him to show you He is real by providing for this person or family. I didn't say the Bible was a lie, I said that due to the shortage of vocabulary, the Bible should not be taken literally. For example, Adam and Eve. In the original hebrew text Adom means group of men and Eve, group of women. Also, I would suggest reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I'm asking you to give God a chance and pray to Him like I instructed you to do so that He can show you that He's real. If you're not going to TRY at least then no need for me to go back and forth with you. Christ instructed that if someone doesn't want to hear the word then wipe the dust off of your sandals and keep it moving. PLEASE try! PEACE and LOVE! Godfree110158 says: October 29th, 2009 at 11:30 AM I did it, I prayed as I had hoped you would, that all the people of the world would be free from starvation. guess what, they are still starving to death. You promised it would work. Jesus promised it would work, that makes you both liars ThankGod says: October 29th, 2009 at 11:57 AM Oh my goodness G! Knock it off! First, my prayer was that whatever you needed to prove that God was real, God would show you. Second, God is an "ontime" God. Just keep that in mind. My goodness. Also, 2 Chronicles 7:14 reads, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Think about it for a minute. Why would God heal a land full of wickedness or people that pray to other gods? Can we please just focus on YOU? Just for a moment? Is there something that you may need in your life or someone close to you that we can pray for? There are plenty of Christ believers praying for the poor and starving people. I asked God about starving people and the answer came on a Christian broadcast. They read the scripture that I just gave to you. I'm nervous for you because if you keep calling Jesus or God a liar, trouble will come your way. For sure! Are you willing to try again on a much smaller scale? Please open your heart to hear from God otherwise, you'll miss the it, OK? PLEASE! Trust me G...I'm praying for you!!!! I KNOW God will not let me down!! He will show you. Godfree110158 says: October 29th, 2009 at 12:29 PM ok, so god cant do the big stuff, lets try the small things. Let us pray that the veil be lifted from my eyes and I will know what it is to love Jesus and friend and saviour. But it must happin by tomorrow. ThankGod says: October 29th, 2009 at 06:02 PM That's what I've been praying for all this time. Anyway...have you ever felt despair? I can't imagine NOT having God in my life. When no one is there for me, or when I need an answer...I pray and God has ALWAYS been there for me. What do you do? Godfree110158 says: October 30th, 2009 at 08:13 AM For me, I speak to real people, I take solace from the living who love me and for whom I love. I try not to wallow in my own misery but instead do for others. A smile a kind word will go far to make others and yourself feel better. As a wise man once said:Two hands working do more than a thousand clasped in prayer. God B Less GF P.S. Its friday, no conversion, still know its a myth, from zombie king to three headed father..sorry ThankGod says: October 31st, 2009 at 12:10 PM I think that it's wonderful to give a kind word. "pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."Prov 16:24. Anyhoo G....when you're not thinking about, God will make His presence known to you THEN you'll see. You'll be used as a witness to all of your unbelieving friends. Even though you doubt God...I don't! Just be ready G! Also, that quote about prayer...you'd rather believe in a tribe of savage people that no longer exist than believe in God? Say it ain't so!!! PEACE AND LOVE!!! Godfree110158 says: November 1st, 2009 at 08:26 AM Nov 1, and still no epiphany. I thank you for proving to one and all that gods like jesus, jehovah, zeus, allah, thor and the rest are pure myth. You promised proof, but you based your promise on a mythical entity. god b less ThankGod says: November 2nd, 2009 at 03:33 AM YOU may have given up G but I haven't. Like I said, God is an "on time" God. Just when you've given up ALL HOPE...boom...He shows up! Even though you may not have faith nor trust in God...He knows I'm counting on Him. Right now, your heart is hard towards God, so He'll present Himself to you when YOU'RE least expecting it. You can't shake my FAITH G...when I've had no one to lean on...God has been there for me...so I KNOW!! Just you wait:-)!! PEACE and LOVE! Godfree110158 says: November 2nd, 2009 at 08:08 AM That's fine, I am happy for you, just as happy as I am for children who take solace in writing letters to Santa. But TG, promises were made, not only by you but by your zombie king as well. If I might be permitted to generalize, you both said "Anything I ask for in his name will be given" You said asking for an end to hunger was somehow not on the agenda of the all loving, all powerful god, in fact you made god very human by suggesting that these people starve because they do not worship the real god and this upsets him. So we decided to go with an easier task, my conversion. As you can tell still refer to god as a myth and jesus as a zombie king, so the conversion did not happen. Now am I to assume you are both liars or just jesus? It would be hard for me to find jesus a liar as I don't believe he ever existed, soooooo god b less GF ThankGod says: November 2nd, 2009 at 12:27 PM Well G! As I said, you may not believe but I do and even though you have given up, I haven't. So there isn't a need for us to go back and forth because I don't like for you to call my Father a liar. I'm just going to wait until I hear from you saying what God has shown you. As far as a people that are starving...if they would acknowledge, pray, and honor God ...He would listen but how much do you want to bet these people aren't praying to God nor trusting Him. What about my question to you? You would rather trust in the saying of an old savage people than at least opening up your heart to God? I'm sad for you G! Peace and Love!! Godfree110158 says: November 2nd, 2009 at 02:20 PM the bible was written by old savage people, so no I would not. Now why do you think your father did not answer the praters of those in the death camps of nazi germany? ThankGod says: November 2nd, 2009 at 02:49 PM I can't answer for God. If you want to know, pray and ask Him. Prayer isn't always closing your eyes and bowing your head. Prayer can be done as you're driving and talking to God as if He's in the car with you. It can be done sitting outside and looking up. Looking at the Israelites that Moses led from Egypt. Only but a few made it into the Promised Land. They turned their backs on God even after He rescued them from the Egyptians. After feeding them while they were in the desert and performing all kinds of miracles they turned their back on God. They made idols out of their gold and worshipped them. Why did they do that? Why do you blame God. It's almost like my child blaming me for punishing him for something that he's done. He can't understand it but when he gets older, he will. When he has children of his own, he'll look back and understand the times that I had to punish him. As I think back and understand now why my parents punished me for things that I didn't understand when I was a child. Sometimes, we're our own worst enemy. God has given us free will. We can take His advice and do what he says or do it our way. Either way, there are consequences. Look at your attitude towards God right now. If calamity falls on you, would you blame God? As I've said before G, God has an enemy. His name is Lucifer. Maybe the terrible things that happen to people should be blamed on him and not God. His goal is to lie, steal, and destroy. I quote Doug Baxter "The devil will tell you to do something wrong, then turn you in for doing it." I'm sure there are a lot of people in the world that have seen miracles. You're putting a time limit on God. I DARE my child to put a time limit on ME. I can't imagine him saying "Mommy, you have an hour to do what I asked you to do" or Mom...I'm not going to believe in you if it's not done when I want it to be done." Please soften your heart some. If you don't want to try...I'm sorry. HOWEVER, that will not stop me from praying for you. PEACE and LOVE!!! Godfree110158 says: November 3rd, 2009 at 05:29 PM I don't know if it is being a christian that makes you a terrible person or if your just a horrible person in spite of being a christian. You cant answer for god, but you revel and rejoice in the misery of others. You have the unmitigated gall to compare your abusive child raising to the tortured lives of those who endure the depravations you would never understand. But I do thank you, it is correspondence from people like you that I use to show others the heartlessness and vile, putrid natures of the christian world. I take your letters and share them with those who claim to follow the prince of peace and author of love. They read as you damn the majority of the world, men women and children to a slow death of starvation, disease, thirst and hopelessness, and you say "Why would God heal a land full of wickedness or people that pray to other gods?" You will have done more in your letters to prove that christianity is farce then a anything I could ever have done. But how you sleep at night, so full of hate for others, is beyond me. GF the godsMost of these gods were revengeful, savage, lustful, and
